Adventure 2006 Conclusion
After leaving Bonner's Ferry, we headed for
Portland, Oregon.
Our route took us along the Columbia River.

My camera brought the boat up close.
A large irrigated plantation across the river contrasts with the desert
landscape on
our side.
We stopped at Woodmizer Sawmill's sales office in Portland where we visited with
manager Ken Barton.
Like here, traffic in Oregon is terrible during certain times of the day.
We enjoyed a wonderful visit with Giny and Bill. They made sure that we got
Giny wipes the car down before we return home.
Later, we had lunch at the Great Wall Buffet. Giny and Bill weren't
exaggerating when
they said it had just about everything to satisfy those who like
oriental cuisine.
After lunch we said our goodbye's and headed for California.
Oh, oh....trouble ahead.
A big truck is on it's side.
And the front of the RV is caved in.
We stopped at a rest area near the border, where we took a nap. I couldn't
resist
taking this picture of a couple of blackbirds.
Mount Shasta is always beautiful. Although it has snow on the top, one
always
wonders about it's volcanic possibilities below the surface.
Shasta Lake is the last of our pictures...We're looking forward to the end
of our
adventure and getting back to normal at home. It was wonderful, but we
needed
a rest after our vacation....
