Drafting the United States Constitution May 26, 1787.

The Constitution was created September 17, 1787, and ratified September 17, 1787. "We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."

Oath of Justices and Judges. Each justice or judge of the United States shall take the following oath or affirmation before performing the duties of his office: "I, ------, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will administer justice without respect to persons, and do equal right to the poor and to the rich, and that I will faithfully and impartially discharge and perform  all the duties incumbent upon me as ------ under the Constitution and laws of the United States.  So help me God."
