Spaghetti Dinner at Sumpter
( Tuesday Nov. 23, 2007)
It's Tuesday afternoon and we're on our way to Sumpter for the Firemen's spaghetti dinner.
We attended this fundraiser five years ago too. Once a year The Old Sumpter Schoolhouse is transformed into a spaghetti house filled with the smells of homemade spaghetti and other home-baked goodies!
Ona Smith greets us at the door.
We're the first ones here and looking forward to a great meal.
Timmy donated extra and apologized for eating so much. Ona thought that was pretty unique.
After dinner, Tim, Guy and Timmy decided to go back to Baker to get more stuff for the opening of the hunt tomorrow. As usual, we spotted a few deer around town. They have the run of the town.
Notice that this buck doesn't seem too worried.
I picked up a few "Tales of the Wild West" by Rick Steber for us to read. Normally, we don't stay in one place this long.
The Sumpter Volunteer Fire Dept. and City Hall are a couple of doors down.
Margie and Amanda said they'd like to see the dredge. Papa waited for us. He was surprised that Brent had been sleeping in the RV behind him while we were out and about.
I bought a couple of sweat shirts in the Visitor's Center.
They decided to take the short trail loop through the diggings.
Crossing the creek to the trail.
Time to head back to camp. Hope to see some elk in the days to come.
