Feather River Canyon Ride

Remembering and Caring

The Old farts have been a close knit group for a number of years now and the longer we stick together, the tighter the knot is tied. Oh sure we have our disagreements at times but we don't hang on to them very long. My wife often asks me what we talk about on our rides and I usually give her a smart answer like "We talk about you". It always puts a smile on her face..........NOT. In reality our conversations bring a deep sort of pleasure, always sprinkled with lots of laughs and once in a while a tear or two. Frankly, the older we get, the more we hang out, if you know what I mean and the more we hang out the better we know and understand one another. This in itself causes us to respect others opinions even though we don't always agree. We have lived through many hard times that affected each others lives and when that happens the unit draws close to the affected party and cover them with a blanket of love and concern. Respect, consideration, understanding among just being there are mighty powerful medicine when used at the right time in the right way. Just knowing that a person cares enough about you to inquire about your present situation when you have been absent for a period of time is comforting to your soul.

Recently I have been away from our Wednesday rides due to rear tire replacement on my Goldwing, and needed repairs to our property in Grass Valley. An old classmate from 8th grade thru high school who now lives in Florida did just that, and Buz you made my day with your inquiry.

Not going to stretch this out much longer, just wanted to make the point that women are not the only gender that has this corner covered. Here's a link to our group several years back and a few members that have passed on.....Ken
