The Willamette Historical Auto Club was started in 1959 as a spin-off from the Horseless Carriage Club. There weren't any car clubs that would take all models of vehicles. Most only want, shall we say, all Chevrolets, all Model A Fords, or all Model T's. Some won't take cars newer than 1928. WHAC's only criteria is that the car be at least 25 years old, but you don't have to own a car to belong. All you need is an interest is the preservation and restoration of vintage vehicles. We joined about 1992. Bill served as treasurer for 3 or 4 years. He is now President with his term to soon end. I served as Secretary, head of the Phone Committee and most recently Tailight editor for the past 6 years. That's where I learned to use a computer. We think the club will soon become just a social club. Our membership is way down and those left are either fighting cancer, in rest homes or on walkers. One member family is still working and another just retired, but the rest of us have been retired for several years and on the downhill slide. It seems that in recent years at least two members have sold their vehicles each year because they can no longer work on them. Kinda sad to think about.

Oh, by the way, Bill's amphicar is on it's way to North Carolina. Bye, bye, Baby doll. Mel and Bonnie were the last one's to ride in it when they visited us in October.
